HENDERSON - HENDERSON COUNTY HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION​
The Henderson - Henderson County Human Rights Commission (HHRC) serves individuals in the City of Henderson and the City of Corydon. The goals of the HHRC are:

Compliance
​
The HHRC has the authority to investigate cases of discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations on the basis of:

-
Sex
-
Age (40+)
-
Religion
-
Disability
-
Familial Status (housing only)
-
National Origin
The HHRC will provide referrals if the office is unable to assist or if the matter is not within its jurisdiction.

The HHRC can provide assistance in filing complaints with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Kentucky Standards and Mediation: Wage and Hour Division. The Commission will also provide information on many state and federal agencies and resource agencies.

Mediation and Education
​
The HHRC will provide mediation services if requested. Mediation can be used to resolve numerous forms of conflict and has been effective in a variety of situations.
​
The HHRC will also provide lectures on many different topics and if staff is not able to provide this service on a particular topic, the commission can provide a referral.
​
Community Relations
​
The Commission will act in conjunction with other local agencies and leaders in order to develop harmonious inter-group and interracial relations and shall act as a conciliator in controversies arising in these areas.

Landlord/Tenant Issues
​
The HHRC will assist individuals with questions regarding landlord/tenant issues.
