Traitify Work Assessment

Traitify is a free modern and simple alternative to traditional personality assessments. Marrying psychology and technology, this two-minute, mobile-friendly personality assessment helps users explore potential career paths. Results are immediately delivered with a detailed breakdown of career personality, as well as smart, personalized career matches.

  • Personality data is tied directly to the Department of Labor’s O*Net career database. Users can filter results for best match and minimum education and highlight relevant career details including salary, employment growth, experience level, and even a visual overlapping of a user’s personality to an ideal candidate for that career.

  • Users are able to dive into a detailed breakdown of personality types and traits and explore additional details such as complementing and conflicting types, as well as the best work environments for their unique personality.

 

Roadmaps workshops

This employment focused curriculum is the basis for a comprehensive job readiness/job search facilitator-led series of workshops focused on assisting job seekers to reach their highest level of economic self-sufficiency. 
 
It is a dynamic program that moves seamlessly through the essential components of employment success: Job Consideration (assessing skills, interests, values); Job Readiness (learning about the labor market, setting goals, managing time); Job Search (applications, résumés, networking, and interviewing); and Job Retention and Advancement (i.e., communication, teamwork, conflict management, money management, customer service, and more).

WorkKeys

Whether you're thinking about the next phase of your education, launching a new career, or making a transition in your current job, the ACT® WorkKeys® assessment system can help.

WorkKeys is a system of assessments and curriculum that build and measure essential workplace skills that can affect your job performance and increase opportunities for career changes and advancement.

The O*NET Program is the nation's primary source of occupational information. Valid data are essential to understanding the rapidly changing nature of work and how it impacts the workforce and U.S. economy. 

Central to the project is the O*NET database, containing hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors on almost 1,000 occupations covering the entire U.S. economy. The database, which is available to the public at no cost, is continually updated from input by a broad range of workers in each occupation. Find the average wage of each job in your area, the required education, and the time it takes to learn the skills necessary to become proficient.

In today's world, it is absolutely necessary to be computer literate. Whether you are applying for jobs online or typing a document, knowing how to use a computer is now an essential skill required by most employers.

Attend our free "Intro to Computers" class at the Kentucky Career Center in Owensboro. Learn skills such as:

  • Navigating Windows

  • Surfing the net (safely)

  • How to use email

  • Basic "netiquette"

 For Veterans

My Next Move for Veterans is designed for U.S. veterans who are current job seekers. The interactive tool helps vets learn about their career options.

 

The site has tasks, skills, salary information, job listings, and more for over 900 different careers. Veterans can find careers through keyword search; by browsing industries that employ different types of workers; or by discovering civilian careers that are similar to their job in the military.

Veterans can also take advantage of the O*NET Interest Profiler, a tool that offers personalized career suggestions based on a person's interests and level of work experience.

CareerOneStop’s Job Search Help for Ex-Offenders is for anyone with a criminal record. You’ll find tips, information and resources to help you search for, apply for, and begin a new job.
